SAFF U-20 Championship, Final: Gurkirat Singh nets four as India beat Bangladesh to lift title

Bhuwaneswar : India U-20 team beating Bangladesh U-20 on Friday, to grab the SAFF U-20 Championship at the Kalinga Stadium, Bhuwaneswar.

Gurkirat Singh of Mumbai City FC steals the show scoring four goals in the match. After the end of the regulation time, both the teams are at 2-2, which takes the game in to the extra time. Himanshu Jhangra of India strikes first in the extra time, and immediately after Gurkirat Singh Singh scores another two quick goals to seal and lock the match in favour for India.

Earlier the match, India net the first goal in the first minute through penalty and take a lead 1-0. But Bangladesh team comeback stronger, Rajon Howladar and Shahin Mia scores for the team and take a the lead 2-1. But Gurkirat Singh has a different plan for the match, he scores a stunner in the 60th minute to level the score 2-2.

Gurkirat Singh Bags the golden boot and golden ball, while Indian GK Som Kumar wins the golden gloves award.
