New Zealand dash Indian hopes at ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 with crushing win over Pakistan

Dubai : New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 54 runs at Dubai International Stadium, Dubai and qualified for Semi Final of ICC Women’s T20 WC 2024 along with Australia from Group A. This meant that Indian team got disqualified as they finished on 3rd position.

Despite multiple catch drops, Pakistan dominated New Zealand in the 1st innings powered by Nashra Sandhu’s 3/18.

Suzie Bates (28) & Brookie Halliday (22) guided the Kiwis to 110-6 (20).

Defending 111 runs, Kiwi spinners with likes of Amelia Kerr (3/14) & Eden Carson (2/7) wrecked havoc on Pakistan Batting, as they got all out for 56 runs, paving way for an official qualification of New Zealand in the semi finals.

Carson was adjourned the Player of The Match for her spell.

India, who finished on 3rd after defeats against New Zealand and Australia, with winning against Pakistan and Sri Lanka got knocked out as a result.
