Dubai: India sealed a morale-boosting victory Namibia by 9 wickets in the last Super 12, Group 2 game of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup in Dubai on Monday.

The “Men in Blue” were crashed out of the tournament already just a day ago after New Zealand beat Afghanistan in the other game. However, this game was quiet for Virat Kohli, who played his last game as captain of the senior national side in the T20I format.

India’s bowlers restricted Namibia to 132/8 in 20 overs. The African side was unable to withstand the quality of the Indian attack, powered by Ravindra Jadeja(3/16) and Ravichandran Ashwin(3/20), the pick of the unit. Pacer Jasprit Bumrah also grabbed a couple of scalps as well. David Wisse(26) who had played this tournament for his new nation topped the scoring in a day when his fellow batters were unable to show some resilience and alongside Stephan Baard(21) were the only batters to get into the ’20s.

In reply, India chased down the total in 15.2 overs thanks to KL Rahul (54*) and Rohit Sharma (56) who stitched to an 86-run open, the third consecutive fifty-plus between the two openers in this tournament.
