T20 World Cup 2021: Anushka Sharma faces trolling after India's loss to Pakistan

Dubai: Surely Virat Kohli led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) had a bad day and suffered a humiliating 97-run defeat against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the last match Indian Premier League (IPL) on Thursday. A huge controversy triggered off the field where legendary Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar surprisingly made a comment involving Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma.

The former skipper said, “Inhone lockdown me to bas Anushka ki gendon ki practice ki hain.” The comment did not go down well with the fans of Kohli and Anushka. The Bollywood actress who is in UAE for IPL 2020, has hit back at the batting maestro after his ‘distasteful’ comment about her and her husband.

Taking to her Instagram account she wrote, “That, Mr Gavaskar, your message is distasteful is a fact but I would love for you to explain why you thought of making such a sweeping statement on a wife accusing her for her husband’s game? I’m sure over the years you have respected the private lives of every cricketer while commentating on the game,” wrote Anushka Sharma.

“Don’t you think you should have equal amount of respect for me and us? I’m sure you can have many other words and sentences in your mind to use to comment on my husband’s performance from last night or are your words only relevant if you use my name in the process?” She also added, “It’s 2020 and things still don’t change for me. When will I stop getting dragged into cricket and stop being used to pass sweeping statements?”

“Respected Mr. Gavaskar, you are a legend whose name stands tall in this gentleman’s game. Just wanted to tell you what I felt when I heard you say this,” she added. This is not the first time Anushka is receiving hate comments for Virat’s performance on the cricket field. Meanwhile, earlier in August Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli announced that they are expecting their first baby in January 2021.
