New Delhi: Diego Maradona, who was the former captain and coach of the Argentine football team, died of a heart attack on Wednesday(November 25) at the age of 60. Although he is the greatest hero of Argentina, his impact was not limited to one sport.
The Indian sports world is paying tribute to Maradona. Several legendary personalities, including Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar, Suresh Raina among others.
“I have no hero anymore. My Mad Genius Rest in Peace. I used to watch football just for you,” Ganguly posted along with a picture of himself with Maradona. “Football and the world of sports has lost one of its greatest players today. Rest in Peace Diego Maradona! You shall be missed,” Tendulkar wrote on Twitter.

Maradona led Argentina to the 1986 World Cup and won league championships in Italy and at home, granting him the sort of iconic status globally. Maradona is counted among the all-time great footballers along with former Brazilian captain Pelé.
