Milan: Real Madrid took down Inter Milan 2-0 in the ongoing UEFA Champions League at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milan on Thursday(November 26). Striker Mariano Diaz and youngster Rodrygo featured on the scoresheet for the Los Blancos.

Zinedene Zidane set up his in a 4-3-3 formation with Raphael Varane being paired with Nacho at the heart of the defence. Martin Odegaard featured in a startling lineup along with Toni Kroos and Luca Modric forming a midfield trident while Mariano Diaz, Lucas Vasquez and Eden Hazard taking care of the attacking duties upfront.

Before the kick-off, all the players and staff were in queue for standing for a moment of silence for Diego Maradona who passed away a few hours earlier.

Real Madrid were quite an obvious dominator of the possession creating chances breaking through early in the 6th minute through Eden Hazard who converted the penalty after Nacho was taken down in the box. Inter were struggling in the first half as the visitors were constantly threatening their defence with fluid passages of play. The evening became more scrappy for Inter as Arturo Vidal diving in the box to claim a penalty for his team but the referee sent him off after the Chilean constantly argued with him for not giving the decision in his favour.

In the second half too, Real were making things happen again while Inter were somehow missing their usual spark like recent times. Madrid got their winning goal when a whipping cross from Vasquez found Rodrygo who slotted it with a first-time finish past goalkeeper Handanovic. Rodrygo, despite his young age, has shown great maturity while Hazard yesterday looks very good with him hoping to regain his best. Real Madrid, standing at the second spot in their group will play Shakhtar Donetsk away next on December 1.
