Football world mourns after death of Argentina icon Diego Maradona

Buenos Aires: The death of the greatest footballer ever Diego Maradona sent shockwaves across the world, leaving worldwide football fans in grief. On Wednesday(November 25) he died of a heart attack at the age of 60.

Tributes poured in from all across the globe for the Argentine legend. From Pele to Cristiano Ronaldo to Leo Messi everyone paid their homage to Maradona. “Today I say goodbye to a friend and the world says goodbye to an eternal genius. One of the best ever. An unparalleled magician. He leaves too soon, but leaves a legacy without limits and a void that will never be filled. Rest in peace, ace. You will never be forgotten,” wrote Cristiano Ronaldo.

“What sad news. I lost a great friend and the world lost a legend. There is still much to be said, but for now, may God give strength to family members. One day, I hope we can play ball together in the sky,” wrote Pelé.

 

 

 

The Argentina icon, best known for leading his country to victory in the 1986 World Cup in Mexico. Maradona, widely considered one of the greatest players of all-time, left a huge mark on the game.
