Kolkata : Mohun Bagan Athletic Club defeated Kalighat Club by 4 wickets at Eden Gardens and conquered J.C. Mukherjee Trophy 2024-25.
Mohun Bagan Bowling first, dismissed dangerous Kalighat openers – Writam Porel (8) & Agniswar Das (10) early 21 runs within 3 overs.
Subham Chatterjee (50) & Sayan Shekhar Mandal (62) brought Kalighat back into the game with 86 runs partnership.
However, Kalighat again began losing wickets and it was only due to unbeaten cameo of Arun Chaprana (21*), that they posted total of 179-7 (20).
Pradeep Kumar of Mohun Bagan grabbed 3-fer.
Chasing 180 runs, Mohun Bagan lost skipper Ranjot Singh Khaira (16) and Ankur Paul (7) early for 31 runs. Vikas Singh (16) also went for low score.
Sudip Kumar Gharami (62), Gitansh Khera (39) notched up vital 51 runs partnership.
Suvankar Bal (31*) smashed powerful cameo at the end and Mohun Bagan went past the target in 19 overs.
