Goa: Ishan Pandita and his late goal have again saved FC Goa from a loss against Chennaiyin FC at the GMC Stadium in Bambolim on Saturday as the match ended 2-2. Yakub Sylvestr and Lallinzuala Chhangte were on scoresheet for Chennaiyin while Igor Angulo netted the other goa for Goa.
The match started with both the team attacking to fetch a goal from the first minute but Chennaiyin looked more threatening. Sylvestr opened the scoring for Chennaiyin in the 13th minute, a solo effort from the forward.
In the 19th minute, Goa hit back with an Angulo penalty. It was his 12th goal of the season and equalled his tally with Roy Krishna in the Golden boot race. Chances came for both the teams in the first half but failed to capitalise.
In the second half, Chennaiyin came with all guns blazing with Manuel Lanzarote, Chhangte and Sylvestr combining to a lead for the two-time Champions on the hour mark. Dheeraj Singh did a blunder under the bar and Chhangte made no mistake in slotting home.
