IRE vs ZIM, Only Test : Andy McBrine stars as Ireland record maiden home Test victory

Belfast : Ireland defeated Zimbabwe by 4 wickets at Civil Service Cricket Club, Belfast in the Only Test , recording their maiden home victory in Test. Andy McBrine starred with allround performance of 83 runs & 7 wickets.

In 1st Innings, Zimbabwe Batting 1st started off well with 97 runs partnership. However, were reduced to 210 runs, with brilliant bowling display of Andy McBrine (3/37), Barry McCarthy (3/42).

In Ireland’s 1st innings, they replied with 250 runs, with Peter Moor (75) being only positive point in the Batting lineup.

Blessing Muzurabani (3/53), Tanaka Chivanga (3/39) helped Zimbabwe restrict them to the score.

In Zimbabwe 2nd innings, Andy McBrine starred with 4-fer , diminishing Zimbabwe on 197 runs. Only Dion Myers (57) & Sean Williams were positive scorers.

Chasing 158 runs, Ireland lost 5 wickets for 21 runs, with Richard Ngarava (4/53) wrecking havoc. However, Lorcan Tucker (56), Andy McBrine (55*) guided Ireland to historic victory.

McBrine was adjourned the Man of the Match for his allround heroics.
