“Yes, we have received all the written approvals,” said Patel. Due to its shift abroad, BCCI required this much-awaited clearance from the Ministry of Home and External Affairs. “Once we had the verbal okay from the government, we had intimated the Emirates Cricket Board. Now we have the papers also, so franchises can be intimated that everything is in order,” veteran BCCI official was quoted as saying to Sportstar.

Due to the ongoing rise in the number of COVID-19 cases in India BCCI decided to shift the marquee tournament in UAE where it will be held from September 19 to November 10 in three cities of Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Most of the franchises are expected to be flying out after August 20 following two mandatory RT-PCR (COVID-19 tests) that will be conducted within 24 hours of departure.
