Irani Cup 2024 : Mumbai and Rest of India announce squads

Kolkata : Ranji Trophy 2024 winner Mumbai will face Rest of India in Irani Cup 2024 at Ekana Stadium, Lucknow on October 1-5.

While the match was originally slated to be held in Mumbai, the home ground of the defending Ranji champion, persistent rains in the city forced the BCCI to move the game to Lucknow.

Mumbai 

Former Indian skipper Ajinkya Rahane, who also led Mumbai to Ranji Trophy 2024 victory will lead them in Irani Cup 2024 too. Veterans like Shardul Thakur, Shreyas Iyer & former Indian opener youngster Prithvi Shaw , are also included in the squad. Star all rounders like Tanush Kotian and Shams Mulani , explosive batter like Siddesh Lad, Musheer Khan gonna feature to the strong Mumbai squad. Sarfaraz Khan’s inclusion will depend upon his playing in 2nd Test in the on going Bangladesh series.

Mumbai squad : Ajinkya Rahane (c), Prithvi Shaw, Ayush Mhatre, Musheer Khan, Shreyas Iyer, Siddhesh Lad, Suryansh Shedge, Hardik Tamore (wk), Sidhaant Addhatrao (wk), Sarfaraz Khan (wk)*, Shams Mulani, Tanush Kotian, Himanshu Singh, Shardul Thakur, Mohit Avasthi, Mohammad Juned Khan, Royston Dias.

Rest of India

Ruturaj Gaikwad, the Chennai Super Kings skipper will lead Rest Of India side. Along with him, veteran Abhimanyu Easwaran, will be the vice captain.

Efficient capped batters like Dhruv Jurel, Sai Sudarshan, Devdutt Padikkal, veteran Ishan Kishan, & uncapped talent Ricky Bhui will also add to the Batting order strength.

In form Manav Suthar, Indian capped pacers like veteran Prasidh Krishna, Mukesh Kumar, Yash Dayal, Khaleel Ahmed, Rahul Chahar will strengthen the bowling line up.

Yash Dayal and Dhruv Jurel’s participation will be subject to their playing in 2nd Test against Bangladesh.
