India A squad for England tour announced, Abhimanyu Easwaran to lead, Bengal pace duo selected, Karun Nair returns

Kolkata : India A squad has been announced for England tour, with iconic Abhimanyu Easwaran as leader. Bengal pacers – Mukesh Kumar & Akashdeep Singh, who have breathed out fire with pace and wicket taking abilities over many mathes for India, have been selected in the squad. Karun Nair has made a return after almost a decade in Test set up.

Stand out bowler Harsh Dubey with 69 wickets in recent Ranji Trophy season earned maide call up. Domestic star youth allrounders like Manav Suthar, Tanush Kotian secured their places.

Players from core Indian lineup who also featured in Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 with good performances –  opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, all rounder Nitish Reddy, pacer Harshit Rana, Wicket Keeper Dhruv Jurel have been called up.

Shardul Thakur makes comeback, while Ruturaj Gaikwad, who’s ruled out of IPL 2025 and Ishan Kishan, despite ups and downs earned much awaited call up. Pacer Tushar Deshpande is also roped in. Sarfaraz Khan who’ve been away from mainstream limelight for several months due to injury issues has been added in the line up.

Khaleel Ahmed and Anshul Kamboj who impressed selectors with recent performances earn places in the squad.

Shubman Gill, the potential leader of Indian Men’s senior team in England series and Sai Sudarshan, the probable opener for India will join from 2nd Test match of India A.

Note: Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan will join the squad ahead of the second match.

India A will play 2 Test Matches starting from 30th May with England lions and 1 Intra Squad Match on 13th June before India senior men’s team lock horns with England.

06-June-25 – 09-June-25 — 2nd first-class in Northampton

13-June-25 – 16-June-25 — Intra-squad in Beckenham.
