Aridane Santana late goal spoils SC East Bengal’s party

Goa: A last-minute goal from Aridane Santana spoiled SC East Bengal’s party as the match ended 1-1 at the Tilak Maidan on Friday. Nigerian star Bright Enobakhare gave East Bengal the lead in the 59th minute before Aridane scored in the injury time to clinch a point for Hyderabad.

The match started on a good note for Hyderabad, after a shot from Akash Mishra went out by the near post. After few moments, Joel Chianese came close to open the scoring for Hyderabad but Subrata Paul made it enough to stop the Aussie.

Anthony Pilkington made a brilliant attempt to score for East Bengal but was saved by Laxmikant Kattimani under the Hyderabad goal. In the second half, both teams started to push forward to score.

It was Bright who scored the first goal of the match just before the hour mark on a counter-attack, a fine finish with his right foot which went passed out rushing Kattimani. Hyderabad went on with their pressing after that but were not finding enough to score the equaliser.

Stepped in their captain Aridane in the 92nt minute to rescue Hyderabad.
