Sydney : India record 2nd consecutive win in ICC T20 WC 2022 at the SCG against Netherlands comprehensively, as a result, they move to the top of Group 2 points table. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli & Suryakumar Yadav scored half centuries, guiding India to a one sided victory by 56 runs.
Defending a huge total of 180 runs against a weak Batting lineup of Netherlands, India always kept them under pressure with picking up regular wickets. Bowlers like Bhuvaneshwar Kumar , Axar Patel , Ravi Ashwin & Arshdeep Singh picked 2 wickets each, breaking the backbone of Netherlands team. Though one sided, still Netherlands lower order mainly Tim Pringle, Shariz Ahmad & Van Meekren played some entertaining cameos, yet losing the match.
In the 1st innings, choosing to bat 1st, India lost KL Rahul early, but later in the innings, skipper Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav scored firing 50s to take India to a total of 179 . Surya won the man of the match for his heroics at the SCG.
