Trinidad : West Indies kick start their T20I Series against India, defeating them by 4 runs in a last over thriller at Trinidad.

India, chasing a moderate total of 150 , India lost both openers Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan early, however, Suryakumar Yadav and debutant Tilak Varma attacked the bowlers all over the park, the chase seemed comfortable, but as a twist of fade, both Surya and Tilak fell in the overs of Jason Holder and Romario Shepherd respectively and the game began to turn in the host’s favour from this point. India never looked settled after these loss of wickets and soon dependable batters like skipper Hardik Pandya, Sanju Samson, Axar Patel too didn’t last long on the crease, since, West Indies continued to take wickets at regular intervals, and their tight death bowling allowed them to achieve this. With 10 runs required off the last over Romario Shepherd bowled beautifully to concede just 5 runs, thereby scripting a thrilling victory by 4 runs.

Earlier in the 1st innings, West Indies opener Brandon King went off to a flying start , but the rejoice wasn’t long as Indian leggie Yuzvendra Chahal took couple of wickets to change the momentum. However, in form Nicholas Pooran posted a threat to Indian side, scoring a good 41 runs before falling to skipper Hardik Pandya, followed by dismissal of Hetmyer. When the hopes of West Indies seemed to diminish, skipper Rovman Powell played a vital knock of 48(32) to post the total of 149/6 after 20 overs. Jason Holder was adjourned the Man of the Match for his economical spell and crucial 2 wickets of Surya and Pandya.
