Guyana : Afghanistan defeat New Zealand for 1st time in T20Is by 84 runs at Providence Stadium, Guyana in Match 14 , Group C encounter.

Defending 160 runs, Afghani left arm pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi and skipper Rashid Khan aged fire.

Their respective 4-fers completely demolished Kiwi Batting order.

Mohammad Nabi too took 2 wickets. Afghanistan diminished New Zealand to 75 runs, recording 2nd consecutive win, making a statement.

In 1st innings, Afghan openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz (80) and Ibrahim Zadran (44) put on a 103 runs partnership in 14 overs.

However, like previous Match against Uganda, after openers dismissal, their innings stopped at 159 after 20 overs.

Matt Henry and Trent Boult picked 2 wickets each to stop Afghans at 159-6.

Gurbaz was adjourned the man of the Match for his heroic Batting display.
