Kolkata : England Cricket Board has announced 14 members squad for 8 Match White Ball Series against West Indies. English skipper Jos Buttler makes a return to the side , and 3 new uncapped faces made their way to the squad.
Buttler who faced calf injury during The Hundred, missed all important Australia series. However, now, he’s completely fit and returns to the squad as the captain.
There’re speculations regarding Ben Stokes return to White Ball Cricket especially after his recent interview where he expressed the same desire, but, he didn’t find a place.
In form Harry Brook , who’s the stand-in captain during the ODI Series against Australia is also sidelined.
3 new uncapped players – Jafer Chohan, Dan Mousley and John Turner made their way into the squad.
Pacer Saqib Mahmood, Sam Curran also returned to the squad after a long time.
Meanwhile, the ECB revealed that they will add two more players will be added to the team after the team selection for the third Test against Pakistan.
“An initial 14-player squad has been selected, which will be supplemented with two players from the Test squad in Pakistan,” the ECB statement said. “A decision on the two players to join the white-ball squad in the Caribbean is to be made after selection for the third Test in Rawalpindi, which begins on Thursday 24 October.”
