Kolkata : Former South African legendary pacer Dale Steyn has parted ways with his former IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad, whom he served as bowling coach for 2 seasons.
Steyn announced via his social media that he, who served the franchise as bowling coach over few years won’t be returning for IPL 2025. However, he’ll continue to serve the sister franchise of Sunrisers Hyderabad – Sunrisers Eastern Cape in SA20 league of South Africa, who’re 2 times winner and Steyn aims to make it 3.
He wrote, “Cricket announcement. A big thank you to Sunrisers Hyderabad for my few years with them as bowling coach at the IPL, unfortunately, I won’t be returning for IPL 2025”.
“However, I will continue to work with Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the SA20 here in South Africa. Two time winners here in SA20, let’s try make it THREE in a row”, Steyn concluded.
The pace gun joined the franchise as bowling coach from 2022 IPL season. He wasn’t a part of Sunrisers Hyderabad’s runner up campaign last season as he made himself unavailable. Former iwi paced James Franklin filled in his place.
