“At any time cricket has to start, it can’t be closed for a long time. This is a great initiative from the Cricket Association of Bengal to bring back the game for everyone in Maidan and from players to coaches to officials, everyone is looking forward to it,” Town Club coach Kanchan Maity told this website.

Earlier on Monday, the CAB president Avishek Dalmiya and Hony Secretary Snehashis Ganguly had a long meeting with umpires Premdip Chatterjee and Abhijit Bhattacharjee to frame the draft and tournament rules.

“It’s with the clubs, the best players of the state playing from the pool. But no franchises,” said a top CAB official. The players are expected to go under quarantine on November 20.
