Napoli: Lazio forward Ciro Immobile has equalled the record of scoring most number of goals in a single Serie A season when he was on target in his side’s 1-3 loss to Napoli. The 30-year-old took his record goals tally to 36 same as Argentine forward Gonzalo Higuain who did it in 2015-16 season playing for Napoli.
Ciro’s count also won him the 2019-2020 European Golden Shoe trophy overtaking Bayern Munich Robert Lewandowski (34 goals). Fourteen of his goals were from the penalty spot, as Lazio finished the season in fourth place, earning a return to the Champions League.

His goal count this season is also five more than Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo.
