Adelaide : Australia defeated India by 10 wickets at Adelaide in 2nd Test of Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 and levelled the series 1-1. Pat Cummins’ 5/57 on Day 3 played pivotal role in this.
India started the Day on 128-5, with Rishabh Pant & Nitish Reddy on the crease.
The duo of Pant (28), Reddy (42) showed great resistance but after 23 runs partnership, Mitchell Starc dismissed Pant.
Despite Reddy’s fight till the end, Aussie skipper Pat Cummins’ 5/57 blew away Indian lower order as the Rohit Sharma led side were bundled for 175 runs, taking only 18 runs lead.
Australian openers Nathan McSweeney (10*) & Usman Khawaja (9*) chased down the target easily with 10 wickets to spare & lead series 1-1. With this win, Australia continue their undefeated streak at Adelaide, with 8 wins in a row.
Travis Head was adjourned the man of the match for his heroic ton.
Both the teams will face each other for 3rd Test at The Gabba, Brisbane from December 14, 2024.
