San Juan Capistrano: At the Sound Running Track competition in San Juan Capistrano, Indian track and field athlete Avinash Sable broke a 30-year-old record in the 5000m category set by Bahadur Prasad in 1992.
Sable had set a new National Record with a time of 13:25.65. Bahadur Prasad held the record for the last 30 years, with a time of 13:29.70 in 1992. Sable broke that record by a significant margin, establishing himself as the new world record holder in this category.

Despite finishing 12th in this meet, Sable made history by breaking a three-decade-old record and creating a new one with his name on it.
Sable, who won silver in the steeplechase at the 2019 Asian Athletics Championships, is presently training in the United States in preparation for the upcoming international season, which he plans to dominate.
