IPL 2021: Yashasvi Jaiswal,Shivam Dube power Rajasthan Royals to victory over Chennai Super Kings

Abu Dhabi:  Rajasthan Royals revived their hopes for a place in the play-offs of the Indian Premier League(IPL). A quickfire fifties from Shivam Dube (64*) and Yashasvi Jaiswal(50) guided Rajasthan Royals (RR) to beat Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 7 wickets in Abu Dhabi.

Chasing an target of 190, RR got a flying start as opener Yashasvi Jaiswal got to his fifty in just 19 balls Shivam Dube  (64* off 42 balls) slammed a half-century as Rajasthan Royals inched closer to victory.  But Rajasthan lost both their openers in quick succession.
Captain Sanju Samson and Evin Lewis contributed 28 and 27 respectively.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were led by Ruturaj Gaikwad’s scintillating maiden hundred.
Batting first Chennai Super Kings opener Ruturaj Gaikwad took his bat through the innings with hiss 60 ball and slammed his maiden IPL century followed by Ravindra Jadeja’s blistering cameo helped their side reach 189/4 in 20 overs against RR.  Jadeja scored 32 runs in just 15 balls with four boundaries and a six. Moeen Ali and Faf du Plessis also scored with 21 and 25 runs respectively.

With this win, the Sanju Samson led side moved to the sixth spot in the points table and they have two more games left this year. If they win both the matches with a better net run-rate, they will have a chance for a top-four finish while CSK are still on the top of the points table.

Brief scores: Rajasthan Royals 190/3 in 17.3 overs (Shivam Dube 64*, Yashasvi Jaiswal 50; Shardul Thakur 2/30) beat Chennai Super Kings 189/4 in 20 overs (Ruturaj Gaikwad 101*; Ravindra Jadeja 32*; Rahul Tewatia 3/39) by 7 wickets.
