Lasko: India’s top ranked paddler Manika Batra has earned a bronze medal in the World Table Tennis (WTT) Contender event in Lasko after losing 2-4 to China’s Wang Yidi in the women’s singles semi-finals on Saturday. Wang Yidi beat Batra at Sports Hall Tri Lilije’s Table 1 by scores of 11-7, 7-11, 13-11, 10-12, 11-7, 11-5.

Earlier in the day, Manika Batra and Archana Girish Kamath advanced to the finals of the WTT Contender tournament’s women’s doubles event. Manika Batra and Archana Girish Kamath won 11-6, 8-11, 11-6, 5-11, 11-8 over Wang Yidi and Liu Weishan.
Batra advanced to the quarter-finals of the WTT Contender event in Lasko on Friday after overcoming Daria Trigolos 3-1 by 11-6, 8-11, 11-4 in the round-of-16 match.
