Kolkata : Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 Auction is set to take place on December 15, 2024 at Bengaluru.
A total of 120 players, including top international stars and domestic talents will go under the hammer as franchises look to strengthen their squads for the upcoming season.
Among the 120 players list, there’re 91 Indian and 29 overseas cricketers, with 3 from Associate Nations, stated a WPL media release.
Among them, 82 are uncapped Indian players, while 8 are uncapped overseas players.
Gujarat Giants, who finished at the bottom of the points table in the first two seasons, have the largest auction purse with INR 4.4 crore. RCB will go into the auction with a purse of INR 3.25 crore, while UP Warriorz enter with INR 3.9 crore in their kitty. Two-time runner-up Delhi Capitals will have a purse of INR 2.5 crore, while 2023 winners Mumbai Indians go in with INR 2.65 crore in their bag.
With 19 slots available, including 5 reserved for overseas players, the auction is expected to ignite fierce bidding wars among the franchises.
