Kolkata : In the launch event of Emami East Bengal, assistant coach Bino George talks with the media. The former Kerela United coach had a winning season with the club. Coming victorious at the Santosh Trophy, Bino’s next target is to bring back the glory of 103 year old East Bengal FC.
Regarding the century-old Kolkata giants, Bino termed East Bengal FC ‘The best football club in India’. However, finishing at the bottom of the table last season, the East Bengal management is determined to bring back the glory of the club . “I would like to say the management, the investors and we all are determined to bring back the glory of East Bengal.” said Bino.
The management have decided to take a good coaching department with the young players. “We have to build a strong foundation of the team. Assisting Head Coach Stephen Constantine, we all are trying to level up the team. Me and Stephen both are aware of the Indian players, the atmosphere and the pitch, which is a plus point for us.”
Working with the Keralian footballers, the former Kerala United coach seems to be knowing a lot about them. “I know all the Indian players and hopefully they will do good in ISL”, said George. The foreigners’ signing will be soon updated, confirmed Bino.
The key focus is ‘Kolkata Derby’ at this moment for East Bengal FC. The arch rivals ATK Mohun Bagan and East Bengal will face off on August 28, in the group stage of Durand Cup.
The massive East Bengal fan brigade has a special message from Bino, “The fans are aware of what this team is capable of, so would request to keep the hope alive and give us time.”
