Kolkata : IPL 2025 Mega Auction is set to be held on 24-25 November, 2024. A name that took everyone to surprise is a sole player of Italy – 24 years old Thomas Draca, who has been hot topic since the list of 1574 players in auction came out.
A total of 30 Associate Nations have registered in the IPL 2025 Auction. The countries that have registered are – Canada (4), USA (10), Netherlands (12), Scotland (2), UAE (1) & a lone player from Italy – Thomas Draca. He’s placed in 325th slot.
Thomas Draca, a right arm medium pacer, 24 years old has played 4 T20Is for his nation Italy and took 8 wickets. He made his debut against Luxembourg in June 2024 during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub-Regional Europe Qualifier Group A match played in Spinaceto.
Draca, who has played for Brampton Wolves in the Global T20 Canada 2024 in July-August and picked up 11 wickets in 6 matches, and was second highest wicket taker in the league.
He was signed by Mumbai Indians sister franchise MI Emirates for the 2025 season of ILT20 in September, and if shortlisted for the auction, he could attract interest from the Mumbai-based franchise.
