Virat Kohli sets multiple records after epic clash against Pakistan

Kolkata : India’s modern day legend, Virat Kohli, the name is enough, not only a scary figure for opponents but also record breaker. In ICC Champions Trophy 2025 match winning encounter against Pakistan, Kohli, now the 3rd highest run scorer in international Cricket has smashed multiple records yet again.

Chasing 242 runs against Pakistan, Virat Kohli slammed 100* (118) runs that guided India to their 2nd consecutive victory against Pakistan in ICC CT 2025. This innings included just 7 boundaries, and Kohli displayed immensely efficient running between the wickets. He hit the winning runs for boundary when he was on 96* and sealed the deal for India, scoring against his favorite opponent – Pakistan. It is the highest score by an Indian against Pakistan in Champions Trophy, surpassing Rohit Sharma’s 91(119) in 2017 CT.

This was 82nd International Hundred for Virat Kohli, 18 behind Sachin Tendulkar only and 51st in ODI Cricket, record of most international hundred that he already set during 2023 ICC ODI WC surpassing Tendulkar’s 49 tons in ODI.

Besides this, Kohli became the fastest player to reach 14000 ODI runs in just 287 innings, surpassing Tendulkar’s record, which was set in 350 innings.

Kohli smashed another amazing feat of scoring most ODI 50s (23*) in ICC ODI events, equalling Tendulkar’s 23 half centuries.

In addition these, Kohli also broke Ricky Ponting’s record of 27,483 runs to become the third leading run scorer in international cricket.

Besides shinning with the Bat, Kohli, one of the best fielder in international Cricket broke record of taking most catches by an Indian in ODI Cricket – 157*.

An experienced campaigner, Kohli, whose place was question due to lack of form in recent past has yet again answered all critics with another match winning performance.
