Goa: The upcoming season of the Indian Super League(ISL) is reported to begin in November this year. As per sources, 2021/22 campaign will probably get under way on November 19 , and will continue till March 20th, 2022.  Due to current COVID-19 situation, all the fixtures will again be played in Goa. The venues will remain the same, Fatorda Stadium, Bambolim Stadium, and the Tilak Maidan stadium. The Final is scheduled to be played at the Fatorda Stadium.

The ongoing pandemic has affected the sports at every steps. Last season, the matches were played with empty galleries void of supporters and players were secluded in bio-bubbles. The 2021/22 season is also heading towards the same outcome for both the players and fans. However, if the situation gets under control, the organizers may open gates for a limited number of spectators.

It is reported that the concept of matches to be played in home and away fashion will be introduced in the upcoming season.  The prestigious Fatorda stadium will probably be the home ground for Mumbai City FC, the defending champions,  ATK Mohun Bagan, the runners up  and NorthEast United FC, who finished third on the table last season.  The GMC Athletic Stadium in Bambolim will host the home games for the teams finishing between 4th to 7th in the league in the last season which are  FC Goa, Hyderabad FC, Jamshedpur FC, and Bengaluru FC.  The three teams who were at the bottom of the league last season , i.e. Chennaiyin FC, SC East Bengal, Kerala Blasters, and Odisha FC will host their matches at the Tilak Maidan. However, besides SC East Bengal,  every side have confirmed their participation with the Kolkata giants are yet to solve their internal situation within the club.
