Copa America 2021: Uruguay bank on Edinson Cavani-Luis Suarez pair to pocket full points

Rio de Janeiro: With a loss and a draw, fancied Uruguay will take on Bolivia hoping for their maiden Copa America 2021 win in a Group A encounter on Thursday. In another same group tie, Chile would look ahead in landing a win against Paraguay to advance to the quarterfinals.

Touted as one favourites in the group, Uruguay had a disappointing start to their campaign faltering against Argentina before splitting points against Chile. They would go into the field desperate for a win while Bolivia with back-to-back two losses will aim to get first points on board.

With no injuries, Uruguay head coach Oscar Tabréz would deploy an unchanged XI led by the potent duo of Edinson Cavani and Luis Suarez. The duo would be backed by the threat of Giorgian De Arrascaeta, Nicolas De la Cruz and 22-year-old Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde. Captain Diego Godin would partner up with Jose Gimenez to help in keeping a clean sheet.

Bolivia are still without Marcel Moreno and Gilbert Alvarez could fill in for him. Forward Juame Cuéllar could return back to starting XI while Carlos Lempe will be in charge under the post.

On the other hand, Chile would hope to win their encounter against Paraguay in the final game of group stage. With a strong start, La Roja’s momentum phased out as they were held in a draw in their last match against Ecuador. In an endeavour to book their spot, Martin Lasarte would form a coherent team.

Eduardo Vargas along with Ben Brereton would star the frontline while experienced Arturo Vidal and Charles Aranguiz will support them. Gary Medel and Guillermo Maripan are most likely to help Claudio Bravo in keeping the posts.

Paraguay, who started their campaign with a win, fell into a narrow loss against Lionel Scaloni’s men and would try to bounce back to their winning ways. Paraguay boss Eduardo Berrizo would field the same line-up for their clash against La Roja. While Gustavo Gomez, Alberto Espinola and Santiago Arzamendia guard the back; Angel Romero, Alejandro Romero and Miguel Almiron would go in forward.
