Dambulla : Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan by 3 wickets in close encounter in Semi Final 2 , at Rangiri Stadium, Dambulla to qualify into the final.
Chasing 141 runs, Sri Lankan skipper Chamari Athapaththu (63) starred with Bat. However, rest of batters struggled against Pakistan, with Sadia Iqbal wrecking middle order with a spell of 4-16.
Anushka Sanjeewani (24*) was the only ray of hope for Sri Lanka and she kept the promise.
With matters going to the 5th Ball of an exciting last over of Nida Dar, she smashed the winning runs clinching a thrilling win for Sri Lanka.
In 1st innings, Pakistan Batting 1st had a solid start with 61 runs partnership between Muneeba Ali (37) & Gull Feroza (25). However, after their dismissals, Pakistan stumbled to Prabodhani and Dilhari’s spell, picking 2 fers. With help of Fatima Sana (23*) cameo, Pakistan finished on 140-4 (20).
Chamari was adjourned the Player of The Match for her heroics.
Sri Lanka will face India in finals on July 28.
