Dambulla : Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh by 7 Wickets at Rangiri Stadium, Dambulla to start their Women’s Asia Cup 2024 campaign with a win.

Bowling 1st, Sri Lankan bowlers with likes of Inoshi Priyadharshini, Udeshika Prabodhani blew away Bangladeshi middle order. Skipper Nigar Sultana (48*) stood tall from one end without support as Bangladesh finished at 111-8 (20).

Chasing 112 runs, Vishmi Gunaratne (51) played an anchoring knock as Sri Lanka chased the total in 17.1 overs. Though Nahida Akter (3/12) challenged them.

Vishmi was adjourned the Player of The Match for her knock.
