Paris: Former Spanish and Real Madrid veteran Sergio Ramos stated that he would always be delighted to have Argentine talisman Lionel Messi in his team. The defender has been up against Messi on multiple occasions as the Real Madrid captain worked on stopping the efforts of the El Clasico rival.
The 35-year-old Ramos, who has recently severed his ties with the Los Blancos after 16 years joining French giants Paris Saint-Germain, admitted to being a fan of the Barcelona star. “I like to play with the best players and Messi has been one of the best in the world. I have always said that Messi will always have a role in my team,” Ramos said in an interview with TNT SPORTS.
Ramos has always been appraising talented players, and his rival-turned-colleague Neymar is no exception to that who spent four years in La Liga facing the heat of the defender in numerous Clasicos. He also claimed to have a great bond with the Ligue 1 forward.
“Despite the fact that he was at Barca and I was at Real Madrid, I have a very good relationship with him. In those years of the rivalry, we formed a relationship and he has been sending me messages encouraging me to come to PSG. It is always appreciated that the stars encourage you to come,” concluded Ramos.
