Barcelona: Ronald Koeman has reportedly informed Riqui Puig, he does not count on him for the upcoming season, as he does not ‘fit’ his plans. He has asked the youngster to look for another club.

The 21-year-old Spaniard was expected to be promoted to the senior team for the season of 2020-21, which doesn’t look like the case scenario anymore. Puig, who featured in the previous two friendlies have been left out of the squad for the Joan Gamper Trophy clash against Elche, without any explanation.

The youth product of Barcelona was known for the effect, he had even in the very limited time he got and his “Barça DNA”. It looks like the signing of Miralem Pjanic, have made things difficult for the young talent.

There were rumours about him going out for a season-long loan deal, earlier. Now, his future seems very doubtful, according to sources. Ronald Koeman received his fair share of criticism both good and bad earlier for trying to bring about a radicle change in the squad. The Dutch coach promised to revive the squad, with required changes.

Although, there had been no news as to which club Puig might go, or if it is a loan deal or a permanent deal. Things look pretty tight for the youngster as he might have to leave the club where he was nurtured from a very young age.
