Turin: Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo provided the much-needed update finally on the ‘disrespectful’ rumours surrounding his return to Real Madrid as speculated by the Spanish Media and stated that his story at Santiago Bernabeu has already ‘been written’.

Ronaldo’s contract with the Italian Serie A club has only a season left and the discontent after being benched in certain matches by former coach Andrea Pirlo ignited speculations of the talisman’s departure.

While there were rumours that Ronaldo might return to England at Manchester United, following some social media posts during the Euro 2020, the Portuguese star’s no concrete statement foiled it. However, Spanish Media claimed that Ronaldo has reportedly accepted a return to Real Madrid where he had played from 2009-2018 wining an assorted array of silverware.

Ronaldo discarded all the speculations with a seemingly angry note on his social media handles stating he is more than ever focussed with his stint with the Serie A side and will only be focusing at the present.

“Anyone who knows me is aware of how focused I am on my work. Less talk and more action, this has been my guiding motto since the start of my career. However, in view of everything that’s been said and written recently, I have to set out my position,” Ronaldo said.

“More than the disrespect for me as a man and as a player, the frivolous way that my future is covered in the media is disrespectful to all the clubs involved in these rumors, as well as to their players and staff.

“My story at Real Madrid has been written … I know that the true Real Madrid fans will continue to have me in their hearts, and I will have them in mine. I’m breaking my silence now to say that I can’t allow people to keep playing around with my name,” he continued.

“I remain focused on my career and in my work, committed and prepared for all the challenges that I have to face. Everything else? Everything else is just talk.” Meanwhile, Carlo Ancelotti, who was appointed as Real Madrid manager for the second time, also discarded Ronaldo’s return to the Spanish giants.

Cristiano is a Real Madrid legend and he has all my love and respect,” Ancelotti said on Twitter. “I have never considered signing him. We are looking toward the future.” Real Madrid have had a trophyless season finishing second in La Liga. The club have been trying to salvage finances to sign Kylian Mbappé for Paris Saint-Germain, whose current contract expires next season.
