Kolkata: After being stuck in the city for almost five months, Mohun Bagan’s Senegalese star Baba Diawara finally leaves the city for his country. The club arranged Diawara’s travel via Dubai to Dakar, Senegal. Besides the travel, the club also arranged for the COVID-19 test for him and his family.

The 32-year-old Senegalese was a goal machine for Mohun Bagan scoring 10 goals in 12 matches in their second I-League winning campaign. His connection with Joseba Betia was just telepathic on the field and scored a goal against Aizawl FC which crowned Bagan as Champions.

Diawara is very thankful to the club for providing all the necessary helps in this crisis situation. “I am really grateful to the club for looking after me and my family during this tough time. I thank the entire management especially the bosses for overseeing my stay as well as arranging my travel,” he said. Last week Daniel Cyrus, another Bagan player left for his native country, Trinidad and Tobago. Similar arrangements were made for him by the club.
