Kolkata : Indian pacer Mohammed Shami quashed injury reports for Border Gavaskar Trophy, on October 2.

Shami is on a road to recovery since ICC WC 2023 Final due to ankle injury.

Speculations sparked wide regarding his participation in Bangladesh series but, he, not being fully fit, was ruled out.

His participation in Border Gavaskar series also looked doubtful especially after a news broke that due to some of major news sites reported that Shami has “swollen” ankle that he picked up in NCA while practising and would be out for 6-8 weeks more.

However, Shami has retaliated against all these rumours, saying that neither him nor the BCCI mentioned that Shami is out from the Border-Gavaskar Trophy later this year.

Shami taking to his social media highlighting some major media sites’ headlines, wrote, “Why these type of baseless rumours? I’m working hard and trying my level best to recover. Neither the BCCI nor me have mentioned that I am out of the Border Gavaskar series. I request the public to stop paying attention to such news from unofficial sources. Please stop and don’t spread such fake news, especially without my statement.“

This could imply there’re chances that the veteran pacer , with 229 Test Wickets, is in contention to participate in the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
