Brighton : Manchester United made a dramatic comeback and won the game against Brighton, as VAR awarded them a penalty after the final whistle had been blown. United, who won the match 3-2 registered their first win of the campaign.

The woodwork and penalty played a major role in the game. Having hit the woodwork three times the Seagulls finally took the lead when Neal Maupay scored from the spot, after Bruno Fernandes brought down Tariq Lamptey in the box on 40 minutes.

This lead was quickly given away when Lewis Dunk scored an own goal on 43 minutes. Providing United with the lifeline they had been grasping for. Thereafter an exquisite goal from Marcus Rashford gave United a lead on 55 minutes.

During the injury time a strike from Solly March on 90+5′ minutes, equalised the scoreline. The match almost ended in draw, but VAR intervened as United were awarded a penalty after the final whistle for a Maupay handball, which was converted by Bruno Fernandes in the 100th minute.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s men got to walk away with the victory in a very dramatic and tight match. However Graham Potter’s men were brilliant from the very first minute, as they found the woodwork for several times and the dramatic VAR decision that went against them even after the final whistle was blown. They were very unlucky to have lost this match.

Both the sides meet again on Wednesday (September 30), same venue for the Carabao Cup fourth round, Potter and his men would look forward to that meet and hope to win it this time.
