Paris : Lionel Messi rumouredly wants Paris Saint-Germain to sign Argentine teammate and star striker Sergio Aguero who was allegedly not happy at the Spanish club following Messi’s exit.
Sergio Aguero had recently joined Barcelona on a free transfer from Manchester City, reportedly to fulfill his wish of playing along side his national teammate Messi, however Barcelona’s financial situation and La Liga fair play rules compelled Messi to move away from the club of his life.
According to French Media , Lionel Messi has demanded PSG to bring Aguero to the club and the club is preparing a swap deal for the Manchester City legend involving another Argentine Mauro Icardi who had not been that great for the French giants involving more into family affairs that has enraged the club officials.
However Aguero rubbished all the rumours of him seeking for an exit after Messi’s departure and having a clause that would allow him to depart with Messi. Talking to the media, after his debut in Barcelona’s win against Valencia CF , he said,
“No doubt I’d sign for Barca again. Just for the name of the club, many players are open to giving up money in order to come.
“When we spoke to Barca we knew about their finances, but I told my agent that I didn’t care about money – all I wanted was to sign for Barca, even if it meant not earning what I was at City.”
Speaking of Messi’s departure , Aguero revealed to be as surprised as everyone else was.
“He told me at the Copa America that it looked like the deal was done, but that’s all we spoke about the situation. When we came back he said they were still trying to come to an agreement but then the famous Thursday happened and I was left in shock, like everyone.
“Someone invented that I had a clause that allowed me to leave if Leo (Messi) did. What actually happened was I was injured when I was due to be presented and it happened just a couple of days after Messi left.”
Lionel Messi has however seemed to regain his form after a couple of lows , as the talisman netted a brace against RB Leipzig in the Champions League. While Aguero is still to get his first goal in the Blaugrana shirt and will be back in action on Wednesday as Barcelona take on Dynamo Kyiv in an attempt to make it to the next round of Champions League.
