Paris: As the winter transfer window is almost around the corner, the speculations have started to gain momentum. The notable among them is the rumoured union of Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos.

Messi is free to negotiate with any club and if he wants he can leave as a free agent in the upcoming transfer window. Although, he has assured that he won’t be leaving Catalonia during this winter transfer show, but, chances are high during the 2021 summer transfer window. Clubs like Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain are the favorites to sign him owing to his huge wage bill.

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has also been rumored to put his renewal contract on hold with just six months to go in his current deal. The Los Blanco has reportedly turned down the contract extension offered to him by the Santiago Bernabeu stalwarts.

According to many media reports, the Ligue 1 giants have informed Ramos about signing him and Messi in order to create a star-studded squad with the likes of Neymar Jr. and Kylian Mbappe already being a part of it. Ramos would be a free agent if the Madrid management refuses to fulfill his demands.

Mauricio Pochettino was appointed as PSG head coach after the sacking of Thomas Tuchel last month. Pochettino last coached Tottenham and has been out of the picture since being dismissed from the role in November 2019. He has played for the French club and also captained during his career as a defender in the early 2000s.

“Father Christmas has given me a gift. It’s a chance for me to fulfil a dream by rejoining the club where I played 20 years ago,” Pochettino told media “PSG is a team I always wanted to coach, it was one of my targets.

“I understand exactly what PSG is all about and the type of players that we have… Knowing the potential this team has, it’s a challenge that lies ahead in our future.

“In the next 50 days, we have about 12 games. We have a big responsibility and we have the whole club structure and the players helping us settle quickly as possible during this intense period.”

On being asked about the rumours of Messi joining his team, he said, “It has been a crazy period for us, a lot of meetings, a training session and we have to prepare for the game,” Pochettino said. “We’re going to have time to talk in the future but any big player in the world will always be welcome at PSG.”
