Milan: A magnificent display from defending champions Juventus got themselves a 3-1 victory over league leaders AC Milan in the Serie-A at the San Siro stadium in Milan on Wednesday(January 6). Federico Chiesa scored a brace while Weston McKennie added one for the Bianconeri while Davide Calabria netted one for the home side.

Andrea Pirlo’s men lined up in a 4-4-2 formation with Mathijs De Ligt being paired with Leonardo Bonucci at the centre of the defence. Federcio Chiesa and Aaron Ramsey starting as wide midfielders completed a four-man midfield with Andrea Rabiot alongside Rodrigo Bentancur starting in the middle of the park. Cristiano Ronaldo shared the forward line alongside Paulo Dybala.

Both the sides started the game with a lot of intensity trying to get the upper hand on their opponents. However, it was visitors who broke the deadlock after Dybala, receiving the ball from Chiesa, dragging back the ball with the top of his sole and back-heeling exquisitely to pass it to Chiesa, who finished it off clinically.

Milan didn’t back down as well and were looking good on the counters with Rafael Leao being the driving force in those moves. They got their equalizer through Davide Calabria who attempted shot from a first time ball, squared-off by Leao just outside of the box beat goalkeeper Szczesny finding the top corner of the net.

In the second half, Juventus turned up heat quite well with Ronaldo getting more involved in the game. They extended the lead courtesy Chiesa again who cut inside beating full-back Theo Hernandez, showing great technique and close control before his precised low driven shot found the back of the net.

The young Italian has been going through a purple patch thriving with his new side. Milan tried hard in the rest of game but were unable to make something happen. Also the absence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic proved to be a key factor as well.

The visitors put the icing on the cake after Dejan Kulusevski squared one off for Weston Mckennie in the box who slotted it home ending an outstanding performance by the defending champions ending Milan’s unbeaten streak.
