Goa: SC East Bengal certainly missed the opportunity to register their second victory on the trot against FC Goa as the match ended 1-1 at the Tilak Maidan in Vasco. Goals scored Bright Enobakhare for East Bengal and Devendra Murgaokar scored for Goa. But this draw will boost the confidence for the Red and Gold Brigade prior to their fighting performance throughout the match.

The match was important for both the side as both Goa and East Bengal wanted to win for their own sake, but cupid has it’s own tale as the match ended in a draw with high dramatic incidents throughout the match.

The match was kind off David vs Goliath, as the Gaurs were third on the table and East Bengal was languishing at the 10th spot. Juan Ferrando’s side started the match the way they love to play, controlling and passing.

In the first half Goa created maximum amount of chances but was denied of a goal by the safe hands of Debjit Majumder. East Bengal coach Robbie Fowler didn’t start with Jacques Maghoma and Anthony Pilkington on Wednesday and the team was struggling in the attack.

Bright has been the man for East Bengal to watch out for, with his silky touches and skills mesmerized the eyes of every viewers.

In the second half East Bengal lost their captain Danny Fox after he was given marching order due an reckless challenge. With 10-men everyone thought that Goa would finish the Kolkata-giants but Bright had something else to show.

In the 79th minute against the run off play Bright scored, one of the best goals of the 7th edition of ISL, by dribbling past four FC Goa players. Certainly it will go down as one of the best goals in the history of the ISL.

It took two minutes for Goa to strike back, as Devendra scored a header from a Savior Gama cross. Certainly a cool and calm finish from the young lad and the match ended in a draw.

East Bengal and Fowler will be very happy after this performance by the side. The team has started to roll up and they just need a bit more cutting edge to make it better for them.

Ferrando will feel that his team couldn’t finish the job which they should have finished. Their main man Igor Angulo has been totally bottled by the East Bengal defenders and the Gaurs couldn’t make the extra men advantage count.
