Lakshya Sen, PV Sindhu, HS Prannoy, ‘Sat-Chi’ withdraw from Japan Open 750

Kolkata : India’s top shuttlers Lakshya Sen, PV Sindhu, HS Prannoy & the legendary duo of Chirag Shetty & Satwik Rankireddy have withdrawn from Japan Open 750 competition, staring from August 20.

After Indian Badminton contingent failed to bag any medals for India, the above names who’re the part of the competition have withdrawn for a break from the game.

Lakshya finished 4th in the tournament, but to everyone’s surprise, PV Sindhu, Sat-Chi, HS Prannoy couldn’t even clear the 1st elimination round.

Along with these big names, the duo Treesa Jolly/Gayatri Gopichand also withdrew from Doubles category.

Kiran George will be the only Indian shuttler in the men’s singles with S Sankar Muthuswamy and Sameer Verma also pulling out of the tournament.

In women’s singles, Malvika Bansod, Aakarshi Kashyap, and Ashmita Chaliha will be representing India.

India has no representation in the men’s doubles while Rituparna Panda and Swetaparna Panda will play in the women’s doubles.

In the mixed doubles, N Sikki Reddy and B Sumeeth Reddy will be playing with Sathish Kumar Karunakaran and Aadya Variyath being the other Indian pair in the category.
