The La Liga 2019-20 has been exciting as the previous seasons. Real Madrid literally came from the back to claim the title after two seasons dethroning arch-rivals Barcelona. With the COVID-19 delaying the tournament for about two months, La Liga clubs have got no time to sit back and relax for a bit.
Almost all the Spanish clubs have revealed their 2020-21 season kits officially. While some teams have kept it simple with their traditional look, others made something special and dissimilar. Let’s take a look at what the players will flaunt in the new season.
Atletico de Madrid
(Home Kit)
The new 2020-21 home kit of Atletico Madrid features its traditional colours — red and white — but the stripes have been distorted for a ‘modern feel’. The jersey features a navy blue fold-down collar, while shorts are navy and socks are red. Nike is sponsoring the kit.

(Away Kit)
The new Atlético de Madrid 2020-21 away kit comes in head to toe full blue with bright red detailing. It’s inspired by the city’s Fountain of Neptune, one of the most iconic monuments in the city center where Atleti fans gather to celebrate the team’s victories. The bright, colorful details include gradient striping which is used to enhance the collar, sides of the jersey and socks. The front of Atlético’s blue away is lit up by a red sponsor’s logo. Blue shorts and socks complete the full set.

Midfielder Marcos Llorente said, “This kit is really striking. The blue really grabs your attention and the red also jumps out. I like the subtle stripes and I think it will be very popular with the players and the supporters.”
Barcelona
(Home Kit)
The new Barcelona home kit, sponsored by Nike features traditional Blaugrana stripes coming back. The new jersey is inspired by the Barca’s look in the 1920s. The full uniform will include blue shorts with a vertical maroon stripe on the side, and horizontally striped socks that are similar to the jersey design.

The club said in a press release, “This season, the jersey is recovering its traditional vertical stripes, but is including gold as a distinctive element, the ‘blaugrana’ stripes are bordered on each side by gold strips, which evoke the design of the Club crest that the team wore on their shirts throughout the 1920s.”
(Away Kit)
The 2020-21 Barca away kit features a two-tone gold and black V-neck collar and custom rib trim on the sleeves which gives the jersey a superior feel and look. A gold squad number, swoosh and crest feature on the black shorts, while the word ‘Barca’ and a Swoosh appear midway up the front of the socks. Black from head to toe — jersey, shorts and socks all black.

The kit is inspired by the electric atmosphere of Barcelona by night. When the sun goes down, the avenues of the Catalan capital come alive, bringing energy and light to the darkened city blocks. It is the club’s first black away kit since the 2011-12 season. Defender Gerard Piqué said, “Black and gold go really well together and the kit looks really sharp, it has been a few years since we have had black, so it’s a nice change to have it back.”
(Home Kit)
Real Madrid’s home kit for 2020-21 season decided to go with pink strips and navy blue font to accompany the iconic white of Madrid. The home kit features a V-neck collar and is a simple, plain with clean design. Adidas, the kit manufacturer said, “Inspired by the Madrid mentality of facing pressure with fearlessness and defiance, Adidas has taken the iconic white of Real Madrid and introduced a subtle tonal graphic across the front of the home shirt, whilst the away jersey includes a striking new colorway. Both designs are kept minimal in their aesthetic to not distract from the club’s uncompromising mission of achieving glory in every game they play.”
