Goa: Mumbai City FC’s chances of finishing at the top of the Hero Indian Super League received a huge blow as they suffered a 0-2 defeat against Jamshedpur FC at Tilak Maidan, Vasco, on Saturday.

Goals from substitutes Boris Singh (72nd) and David Grande (90th) helped JFC inflict a second-straight defeat upon the Islanders, who are undergoing their worst phase in the league so far.

The match was expected to be an easy cherry to pick for the Islanders but Owen Coyle’s men came up with something else from the first minute of the match and it went on. Jamshedpur created the most effective chances in the first half and on the other hand, Mumbai were finding nothing out of their attack and the teams went to the first half break with a scoreline of 0-0.

In the second half, every other football fan did expect something from Sergio Lobera to change the course of the match towards them, but nothing was coming their way. Boris scored the first goal from an Aitor Monroy corner.

Lobera brought in Bartholomew Ogbeche immediately to win the match from a goal deficit but his plan back-fired and Grande scored for Jamshedpur in 90th minute.
