Kolkata : English legendary pacer James Anderson, yet to make his IPL debut, has registered his name in IPL 2025 Mega Auction. Meanwhile, current English Test skipper Ben Stokes has opted out of the auction.

Anderson neither made IPL debut nor has featured in any auction since the tournament’s inception. However, has registered his name in the auction in surprising tone with base price of 1.25 cr.

The 42 years old pacer retired from international Cricket maintaining the same level of fitness.

Anderson hasn’t featured in any T20 game since 2014. For England, he has only played 19 T20Is and took 18 wickets, having last played in 2009.

He recently stated that, “I might be in a bit of denial because I’m well aware I won’t play for England again, but I’ve still not made a decision on my actual cricket career”.

On other hand, English skipper Ben Stokes has opted out of IPL 2025 for managing workload and staying fit for Ashes 2025.

He pulled up his hamstring during a game in The Hundred and missed several Tests including the 3 Matches Test against Sri Lanka and 1st Test against Pakistan.

Although he recovered and joined in the later 2 Tests against Pakistan, he wants to manage workload and thus decided to opt out of the auction to stay fit for Ashes 2025.

Other key foreign players to feature in auction include notable names like Mitchell Starc, Jos Buttler, Jofra Archer, etc.

Italian player Thomas Draca is also a surprise name in the list.

Key Indian players like Risabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Md Siraj, Md Shami , Ravi Ashwin, Yuzi Chahal, Ishan Kishan, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, Washington Sundar, etc are on this list ready to bag big prizes.
