Kolkata : IPL Governing Council has announced multiple guidelines for Player Regulations for IPL 2025-2027 Cycle on September 28.
The Council has announced the following guidelines :
– The IPL franchises can retain a total of 6 players. This is via retention or using RTM option.
– The 6 retentions/RTMs can have a maximum of 5 capped players and a maximum of 2 uncapped players.
– The auction purse for franchises will be 120 CR for IPL 2025.
– Any player who registers for the auction and after getting picked, makes himself unavailable before the start of the season, will be banned for two seasons.
– A capped Indian player will become uncapped, if the player has not played in the starting XI in international cricket in the last 5 calendar years or doesn’t have a central contract with BCCI. This could mean that Mahendra Singh Dhoni can play for Chennai Super Kings as an uncapped Player.
-The impact player rule will continue till IPL 2027 cycle.
