Northampton: India women might have lost the first T20I against England at Northampton on Friday but Harleen Deol’s stunning catch to dismiss Amy Jones left cricket experts in disbelief. The 23-year-old took one of the most sensational catches in the history of women’s cricket.
On the fifth ball of the penultimate over of England’s innings, Shikha Pandey bowled a slower which Jones stepped down and tried to clear the off-side boundary. Harleen, who was at the boundary timed her jump to perfection, saved the six, pushed it inside and once again flew in the air to complete the catch.
Harleen’s fantastic effort took the internet by storm and was highly praised by the likes of great Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Harsha Bhogle, Isa Guha, two-time T20 World Cup-winning West Indies skipper Daren Sammy and many more.
