Indian iconic opener Gautam Gambhir was appointed Head Coach of Indian team on July 9 , ending the tenure of Rahul Dravid and other coaching staffs.
Gambhir has reportedly wanted former Dutch Legend Ryan Ten Doeschate in the coaching panel of Indian Cricket Team, as a part of his support staff, as per reports by Cricbuzz.
Dutchman was also one of Gambhir’s assistants during his role as mentor of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) during the team’s triumph in the 2024 season of the Indian Premier League.
Ryan was fielding coach of KKR & has been part of CPL and MCL.
As per reports, BCCI despite discussion Ryan’s name, wants T Dilip as fielding coach, thus, Ryan, if selected can be seen in some other roles.
Gambhir also wanted Abhishek Nayar and Vinay Kumar for Batting and Bowling coaches respectively, however, Vinay Kumar request was reportedly turned down.
Gambhir will take charge of the team from Sri Lanka tour later this month.
